Day 1: Transfer from Kampala or Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your adventure begins early in the morning when your Perky Africa Tours guide picks you up from your hotel in Kampala, Entebbe, or Entebbe International Airport. After a short briefing about your safari, you’ll begin the journey to southwestern Uganda, home to the magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The drive offers an excellent introduction to Uganda’s diverse landscapes. As you leave the city behind, you’ll pass vibrant trading centers, banana plantations, tea estates, cattle farms, and picturesque rolling hills. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up early to the sounds of birds echoing through the rainforest before enjoying a hearty breakfast at your lodge. Carry your packed lunch, drinking water, rain jacket, hiking boots, and camera as your guide transfers you to the Uganda Wildlife Authority headquarters for registration.

After registration, experienced park rangers conduct a detailed briefing covering gorilla trekking guidelines, safety precautions, and conservation efforts. Visitors are then divided into small groups of up to eight people, each assigned to a specific habituated gorilla family.

The trek begins through dense rainforest, bamboo forests, and steep hillsides. Depending on the location of the gorillas, the trek may take anywhere from one to six hours. Although the hike can sometimes be challenging, every step becomes worthwhile the moment you encounter the gorillas.

Watching these magnificent animals interact in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience.
