Chimpanzee Trekking Experience

Chimpanzee trekking is the highlight of this safari and offers a unique opportunity to observe our closest living relatives in the wild.

Your day begins with a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers, who explain trekking guidelines, safety procedures, and conservation efforts. You will then enter Kibale Forest in small guided groups to search for a habituated chimpanzee community.

The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 5 hours, depending on the chimpanzees’ location. Once found, you’ll spend one hour observing their natural behavior as they feed, groom, communicate, and move through the forest.

Along the way, your guide will also introduce you to the forest’s plants, birds, insects, and other primates, making the experience both educational and unforgettable.
